Why flat-fee instead of hourly billing?

The cost does not climb because a transaction turned out to be a memo, because reconciliation took longer than expected, or because a quarter was busier than the last. The price moves with the scope you choose — Basic, Plus, or Comprehensive — not with the minutes. That trade is the point: a bookkeeper on an hourly meter has no reason to be efficient; a bookkeeper on a retainer has every reason to be. And it is what produces the outcomes you actually care about — books that stay current, a defensible P&L, and a number you can plan the month against.

Do I have to switch accounting software to work with you?

No. We are credentialed across QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Wave, FreshBooks, Sage, and Zoho, and we work inside whichever platform your team already runs. Your history, your chart of accounts, your historical reconciliation, and the muscle memory of whoever opens the books every Monday morning stay put. No migration, no clean-up weekend, no new tool to learn.

What does the AI do, and what does the reviewer still do?

AI does the high-volume, low-judgment parts of the work: coding transactions from your bank feed, reconciling matched lines, and flagging anomalies the model thinks you should look at. The reviewer reads every close before it goes out. You never receive a deliverable that only a model has seen. Variance notes, the monthly summary, and the year-end package are written by a person who can answer an email about them.

What is your accuracy commitment?

Every deliverable is a reviewed close — not an AI draft copy-pasted into a PDF. We reconcile to the bank statement, the credit-card statement, and last month’s open balances; the close is only sent when all three tie. If we miss something, we fix it at the next close at no charge. If a correction is needed in between, we correct it in writing the same business day.

How much work is it to switch bookkeepers to you?

Less than a week, and most of it is on our side. We ask for read-only access to the platform you’re on, the prior year’s close (if you have one), and a short kickoff call. There is no new platform to learn, no historical data to re-key, and no new vendor to onboard your team to. We pick up where the previous bookkeeper stopped; if there is a gap, we do a one-time catch-up against a fixed quote, then move onto the monthly retainer.

What is your turnaround time?

The monthly close goes out within five business days of the month’s end — bank reconciliation, categorization, anomaly review, and a one-page variance note included. Catch-up work and ad-hoc questions turn around within one business day. Year-end close is delivered so your CPA has it before filing season starts.

Will my books be ready for tax season?

Yes. The Comprehensive tier includes tax-prep handoff: we deliver a year-end close package — P&L, balance sheet, trial balance, and a clean general ledger — that your CPA can pick up directly. We stay available for their follow-up questions through filing season. If your CPA needs an interim close for an estimate or a planning conversation, that is included in Plus and Comprehensive.

Four steps. (1) A short intake — four questions on the site, replied to within one business day with a flat tier and a one-page scope you can sign. (2) A 30-minute kickoff call — we get read-only access to your platform, your chart of accounts, your prior close, and your CPA’s contact. (3) A one-time catch-up if your books are behind, priced against the gap and quoted in writing before we start. (4) Your first monthly close — handled by the same reviewer who handled the kickoff, on the same schedule every month after that.
